WHO am i?

Sarah Li is a documentary filmmaker and street photographer. Her films have been broadcast on Nat Geo and screened at BAFTA & Oscar qualifying film festivals around the world, whilst her photography has been exhibited and published in India.  In 2022 she was on the Pre-Screening Committee for IDA Awards.

A British and Irish citizen, with Indian and Chinese roots, Sarah works largely in the UK and India. Her films look at identity, belonging and acceptance. Her collaborations tell stories about how people choose to portray themselves and what this reveals about the worlds we create around us.

Sarah is a graduate of the National Film & Television School’s Documentary Directing MA. Her graduation film YAHA WAHA premiered at BFI Flare Film Festival 2022, and was officially selected London, Manchester & Birmingham Indian Film Festivals and Tasveer South Asian Film Festival where it received a special mention. She is currently in collaboration on a short film “Lungs” with EGFR+ UK.
