DIRECTOR & PRODUCER | OUR LUNGS: TIME TO BREATHE | DOCUMENTARY | For EGFR+ Lung Cancer UK | 28 mins | 2026

Our Lungs, Time to Breathe is a short documentary commissioned by EGFR Positive UK, following filmmaker Sarah as she navigates life after being diagnosed with Stage 4 EGFR-positive lung cancer.

Meeting Alex's family just months after he passed away, Sarah confronts feelings of survivor's guilt as she hears from his parents about his misdiagnosis and subsequent death. His story inspires her to challenge the stigma, dangerous misconceptions and the face of lung cancer.

She becomes part of a vibrant community of patient advocates connected by the shared reality of the world's biggest cancer killer. Determined to fuel realistic hope, Sarah discovers the power of collective action, compassion and lived experience.

Alex's tragic death brings into sharp focus what legacy means to her. Surrounded by loved ones, she achieves a physical feat she had only previously dreamed of, highlighting that when lung cancer is diagnosed early, people can receive treatment that allows them to live longer, fuller lives.

At its heart, Our Lungs, Time to Breathe is a powerful reminder that earlier diagnosis can change lives. By challenging outdated stereotypes around lung cancer, the film makes the case for recognising symptoms sooner - because earlier diagnosis can mean more time.
